There are many different options for veils and they can add to the style that you choose for your wedding in such an amazing way. Birdcages, fingertip, cathedral, and more! Do you want to have dramatic wedding photos? Consider a cathedral veil. Want something a bit more trendy? Consider a flower or pampas grass crown. Are you more into a classic wedding look? Then a fingertip veil may be for you! Really consider what you want the vibe of your wedding photos, and that will help guide you!
Cathedral Veil
If you want a flowing in the wind type of shot, I always recommend a long, long veil! The cathedral veil gives your look volume and drama in the best way possible.
Elbow or Fingertip Veils
I would definitely say this is the second most popular veil, especially in the midwest. It gives you the classic bridal look, but doesn’t compete with the details of your dress.
Birdcage or Short Layered Veil
If you are looking for a vintage vibe, a lace and net birdcage is such an amazing detail to add to your look. Looking for something that is still more veil like? Consider a shorter veil with lots of layers to add some of the 1950’s vintage volume.
Flower Crown
If you are feeling like a veil is not for you, but still want something super amazing for your day, consider adding a floral crown or hairpiece! These both add amazing touches to your day. Ask your florist to help you create these pieces to match your wedding day theme. A floral addition can easily help you complete a whimsical garden vibe or go all the way boho with some pampas grass!
No Veil
If you don’t want a veil, that is totally fine! This is your vision and there are no rules when it comes to weddings these days. If you don’t pictures yourself in a veil, ditch it. Let your hair down and go with a more relaxed vibe!
Remember, if a veil is important to you, make sure you budget for it and the most overlooked tip: make sure you talk to your hairstylist about what type of veil you have and how that can play into your hairstyle!
My other big tip is to make sure you are trying on veils with your dress so that you know they match. Your dress store will recommend this as well. Some of my favorite dress stores include Marie & Marie Bridal, Bridal Gallery, Ellie Stone Bridal and Chrysalis Bridal!
What type of veil are you going to choose?
