Each year I am to do a photoshoot that inspires me and re-energizes all my creatives juices for the next year. This usually ends up being in the middle of winter, of course, so we are normally freezing! We got SO lucky this shoot, because it was a beautiful 40 degree day with a wonderful sunset; such a rarity in the winter. It was sandwiched between -45 (yes. Negative) weather and a small snow storm the following day.
I was super lucky to again partner up with Walker Down the Aisle to help bring my dream to life, which all centered around this beautiful skirt I had purchased a year ago. The inspiration was to make this as fairytale as possible, while also being as urban as possible in the mid-sized midwestern downtown of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Alyssa brought in some amazing ideas and did so much awesome planning. If you are gazing lovingly at the beautiful vintage furniture and arch we used, thank Prairie Lane Vintage Rentals! Invites were designed by the very creative b.invited. She even included a very trendy vellum option for an invite, pictured below on the yellow chair and marble tray. Also drool-worthy were the cakes that were beautiful and oh-so-tempting by Bakologie. She got that marbling look to look so striking on the cakes. To top off the entire setup and our bridal look was an amazing bouquet by Brickhouse Flowers! She created a boutique with mauve, pinks and a pop of yellow.
Our stunning female model Grace was transformed into a princess by Platinum Imagination with beautiful hand-curled red locks(yes, she used an iron and curled each and every piece of Grace’s hair!) and some lavender and coral makeup accents. Her look was completed by beautiful diamond earrings and a jaw-dropper ring from The Diamond Room by Spektor. Patrick was styled into formal tux-like attire with a super unique jacket by David Jones Fashions. He also sported a unique square ring from The Diamond Room by Spektor.
Be on the look out from an awesome video by Dykstra Social as well of this shoot. I’m running out of adjectives to describe this shoot, so just look at it below. Words can’t do it justice!
